95 Acura Integra LS B18B1 with a 98 engine Half Shaft issues
I bought a 95 Integra LS with a 5 speed Manual transmission. Someone Replaced the engine with a 98 B18B1 . Found out the cv half shaft is Only bolted on with One bolt. As the half Shaft obviously is not the correct one. Wow! Help please! I don't want to buy Multiple half shaft just to Find the right one.. all help is Seriously appreciated!
The P/O installed an automatic intermediate shaft. Even though the length are the same, the mount bracket (3 holes) are not the same. Pick one up from a 94-01 Integra, designated for a MT.
The part # is 44500-SR3-J01. You can buy it off of one of the oem parts sites but I would recommend checking your local salvage yards for a good one or posting in the WTB (willing willing buy) section here on honda-tech. I guarantee someone here has one they'll sell to you. Or you could even just ebay search integra manual half shaft.
Oh and you HAVE to use the correct bolts for it. They're special bolts that basically double as a dowel pin to keep the shaft lined up perfectly. pick them up at you Honda dealership. Part # 90102-SF1-000. Honestly, with just the one bolt holding in the shaft a you got it, the differential bearing my already be messed up or something else is damaged.
the honda shaft was $300-$400 new when i checked a few years ago.
went with the yonaka shaft for far less $$.
pretty decent quality for the price though i hear not
so great things about their exhausts.
