Default ZEX nitrous

I was recommended to post this in a few different places for different opinions, so dont flame if you see it somewhere else.

I am really looking for more HP out of my 94 Integra RS but I cant afford to go LS/Vtec or Turbo or anything like sutch. The option that I am looking at is the ZEX Nitrous kit. Im not trying to be som Fast and Furious freak, I just want some good, fairily cheap HP.
Well, the main question I have is can I do this? My B18B has 123,000 miles on it and although it runs great in my opinion, there could be some lurking factors im a little scared of. Should I just get it compression tested, and if everything checks out im good to go?? Can I buy something to get it compression tested, or do I have to have it done professionally?? What should my numbers look like?? Thanks for all of your help!

Yes get your compression tested...

Make sure your motor is running very strong before you start boosting it.

Maybe try some Seafoam engine cleaner, some fuel system cleaner, etc.

You can check your compression yourself, but I wouldn't. Bring it to a pro. I think it should be around 200, or high 100's. I dunno for sure though.

I'd try to use a 55 shot, don't be too stupid and your engine will be fine.

Zex is a good setup its not the best but it still has no down falls. I have a zex kit im my 98 GS on a 65 shot and i love it when i need power its right there. And believe it or not NOS runs better on older engines with more miles. They have been broken in and have more play. Turbo requires a strong motor. If u decide to go zex be sure go a head and install the pills for the 65 no timing retarding is required you can ask ZEX dispite what the paper says. I would advise a Air/fuel ratio guage be installed just to make sure you arnt leaning out at high revs while juicin. Other than that no matter what you do u feel the power.

I like the ZEX kit just because it seems pretty idiot proof. It also seems to include the stuff i would buy extra on other systems, like the throttle sensor. Also it adjusts the amount of fuel w/ the amount of nitrous I am running w/ is more safe, correct??

Yeah...the best thing you can do to check if your engine is in top condition is to run a leak-down test in conjuction with a compression check. You'll be able to diagnose potential problems a lot easier this way, rather than by doing just a compression check.
