SRS Question
So i just purchased a 2000 Honda Accord LX and everything mechanically is fine except for a pesky SRS light that's on. I know there are recalls on my model for the airbag/seat belt, but according to my VIN there is nothing that is specifically recalled on it. I called honda US hotline and they told me the same thing. So does my SRS light just need to be reset or is there something really wrong?
It's very common on this car that the driver's seat belt buckle (receiver) throws the code. There is a way to jump pins on the OBD 2 interface and count blinks to get the code. Also, resetting the SRS light can be done with a paper clip.
One thing to keep in mind is that when the SRS light is on, the airbags are not going to deploy.
