Default Integra's rule. Why? Ckeck it out.

I accidentaly overrevved my engine twice in different situations. I am greateful that I didn't blow it up but I didn't hold the RPM's there long at all. But I was scared that I screwed something up so at work (Acura of Memphis) My friend did a compression and leak down test on my car and It turned out really good. In the compression test I got: Cyl 1: 154psi
Cyl 2: 156psi , Cyl 3: 146 psi , Cyl 4: 160 psi. I am just thankful my engine is still in perfect condition, but I guess it should be since it's only got 39k on it. B18C1

Those numbers are below or at the VERY bottom of acceptable range especially for a GSR. I got 185+ on my LS.... you should be getting 200+.... I know testers are different... but thats still LOW.

im gonna have to agree with shadowdawn on this one. Those numbers should be 180ish to 200s. I'm going to do a compression test on my car next weekend to see if i should get a turbo then build my block or build my block then turbo... or whatever... just for ***** and giggles

But yeah, you should get your head taken off and look for any damaged parts (gaskets, pistons rings, seals, valve seals, etc)

If all pressures are near each other, chances are the motor is fine. If the actual readings are low, most likely it's because of differences between testers, or more likely the test was not done exactly in the proper manner. If there was a problem with ALL 4 cylinders, I'm sure it would be quite noticeable just by listening to how it runs, no testing needed. If all the pressures come out fairly even and idle sounds normal, I would be willing to bet that the engine is just fine.

sorry shadowdawn but the tester we used is probably different than yours or ones you've used. We did it at the shop at the dealership where I work and they all said it was normal. Normal, for a GSR motor, is between 140 an 160.
