Holey Cold Air Intake batman!!
I noted that every time I turned hard right my driver side tire would rub a bit. I assumed it was rubbing the plastic wheel well covering at some point so I didn't look into it right away with everything else that has been going on in life.
Well today I finally investigated to see just what was going on....

Holey CIA batman!!! This was not what I wanted to find. Whomever did the Injen CIA install cut holes in the plastic well so the pipe could sit in the wheel well.
So today I had the pleasure of patching that hole after cleaning it up, smoothing out the edges etc.
The problem is the foglights. They push the filter far enough back the tube can't fit in tight and falls into the well too much.
So my fix was to cut about 1.25 inches off the filter end, smooth the edges and re-install the patched tube. With putting the tube as close to the radiator off the IM as possible it puts about a hands thickness of clearance between the tire and the tube when turned full right.
Just glad I caught this before any major damage happened to the engine. Sucks to know I've been sucking dirty air and even aluminum scraps from the tube through the engine. I'm sure it could be waaaay worse.
The patch..... Aluminum can cut, folded into at least 8 sheet thick patch, molded to form, the right stuff gasket maker for glue and seal and 6-7 zap straps to keep it all in place even after it all dries.
Sucky part is I am not seeing the 06-11 Si on Injen's website for CIA....

Here is the results of the fix and patch:

As can be seen in the pics, the piping is much more recessed now.
The thick aluminum can patch and The Right Stuff makes for a solid sealed patch.
Enjoy my poor man fix. I might look into another CIA tube, probably AEM, but until then, this has done the job well.

LoL
Doesn't have the same tensile strength or the PSI sealing power of 8 layer thick aluminum and The Right Stuff anaerobic gasket maker.
The inside of the tube turned out pretty smooth. Very close to the original. Don't think the duct tape would have had the same results. Gotta keep the turbulence down to a minimum.

I should add (for future searchers) that with the hole I was periodically picking up a P2101 code as can be seen here:

The code has never returned since the patch of the CAI.
