Default 5 quarts and still reading low on dipstick

Kinda of a noob question here, but nonetheless, I am confused. Did an oil change on my 2000 Accord 2.3 L this afternoon. When filling it up with oil I put in 4, dropped it on level ground, added little by little. I ended up putting in in the whole 5 qts and Im still reading a bit below the full dot. I know the capacity on this car is 4.5. Yes, the car was warm and I let it cool for a few minutes before checking the oil. I also drove it around, let it cool again and same story. Just a bit below full. Should I top it off? Then I would be at 5.25 qts. appx.

FWIW I had the car on jack stands to ensure I got all the old oil out. Is this reading off or what?

5.6 Quarts is what a dry engine will take.If you drained your engine well you could be close to that.

Piston skirts, walls, and oil galleys with a new empty filter could very well retain 1 quart of oil.
That said..
My Accord fills with 4.5 , after any reasonable draining .
