I've gotten my hands on a nicely modified 94 accord coupe this spring and now comes the time to change the brakes! This car has a 5 bolt swap so I've managed to fit 97 prelude front brakes on but the rear brakes aren't 97 prelude!
Im a bit stumped on which model the rears are for basically I need to pick out a set of rear rotors and pads but I'm not sure which will fit on this 5 bolt conversion. Any help would be highly appreciated
I have a 5-lug swap on mine, so maybe I can help. Your rear knuckle should be the original Gen 5 one. I used the rear hubs from the 97-01 prelude. There are other ways to do the swap, but the result should be similar. I used the rear brake rotor from a Gen 6 Accord V6 (at least at first). The calipers were the original that came with the car. You can also use the station wagon calipers which have 38mm pistons instead of 34mm ones. These calipers are also used by the Vigor and early TL so it is easier to find them from that source. I later installed a Fastbrake kit which uses larger rotors from a Honda Pilot. I am guessing you probably don't want to do that right now, so go with the Gen 6 V6.
Thanks for the help guys but im not changing the calipers or anything like that. The swap is complete, however im not sure what the guy changed it to. So now im doing the rotors and pads only but i found that 97-01 prelude arent the rotors i need. Ive been told the diameter is right but the depth is off. So since its not prelude i guess it narrows it down to RSX?

Thanks by the way the previous owner really did an amazing job with the thing.
The vehicle has a 96 H22A Type S motor, along with a grey interior and matching grey Recaros straight out of the 90's. He went for OEM wherever possible and it turned out fantastic.
Definately the nicest looking and fastest car ive owned as of yet, though I still miss my Milano red 98 Civic SI
