Default noticeable difference from a .0040 over piston?

assuming same compression, was wondering about how much of a difference a 40 over bore would make. i would like to run higher compression pistons .0040 oversized, interested in opinions on gains and temperature differences, as i am sure running thinner cylinder walls with higher compression will make the motor run hotter. thanks.

thinner walls won't make it run hotter.. but compression will

i don't see how thinner walls wouldn't affect compression--less material, more heat transfer. i am thinking that a good way to combat this is with a mugen thermostat and temp sensor, as well as water wetter.
(if the heat is that much of an issue, i am more concerned about fueling with 12 to 1 compression.)

i thought 40 over was .40 or four tents, not 4 thousands...please correct me if im wrong...cause .004 doesnt seem like much at all...

40 over is .040 - forty thousandths or about 1mm

thinner walls = more heat transfer = better cooling. for the existing heat. and thinner walls won't make more heat

the compression will make more heat but the whole thinner walls and heat thing has nothing to do with it

its .040" over, not .40" over. this will not heat up your motor any more than say the same compression pistons of an OEM bore. Gains will be their, primarily in the torque area, but all of that depends on the rest of your setup as well.
