Civic 95 EX, MT, D16Z6, no dash lights, cranks, but doesn´t turn on....
Hello. I´m new here, and I really need help with this trouble, because no matter how hard I try, can´t find out what´s causing the problem:
When I move the key to II, nothing happens, I don´t hear any beeping sound, no dash lights (battery, oil, check engine, nothing) comes on, also, the signal lights, wipers, and the factory clock doesn´t work eighter. When I turn to III, it cranks, but doesn´t turn on.
The only thing that works when I turn to II, is the AC system.
I´ve checked all the fuses, inside and under hood; all of them were fine.
I´ve installed a new main relay, still nothing.
ECU (stock) looks fine, with no any damage from inside
Ignition switch looks fine too.
Engine components are good: no any problem with the coil, distributor, spark plugs, grounds, etc.
From some weeks ago, it started to fail randomly like I´ve described; for making the car to work some how, kicking the fuse box, or giving some impact to the steering wheel were useful, but now, that doesn´t work any more.
Btw, I don´t see any damaged cable, and the car never died, or worked unstable while driving.

I´d really appreciate your help from experienced people, thanks.

This is probably a bad ignition switch. You can't tell electrical problems by looking. You need to use a voltmeter to follow along the circuit and find out where the voltage is being lost. Leave the black probe of the voltmeter on ground and probe the red one on the in and out terminals of the ignition switch, fuse box (use the test points on the top of the fuses), etc. Identify the wire colors and terminal numbers with the schematic and follow from the battery to the eventual destination like the ECU.
Thanks for your answers. I´ve been checking the problem, and looks like the ECU is broken. A car technician checked what´s going on, and he told me that the ignition key unit, all the fuses, relays, connectors, cables, grounds, looks fine, and, at 2nd key position, the fuel pump doesn´t prime, still no signal lights or wipers are working; only AC is working.
So, main relay is ok, no broken fuses, thermostat ground is ok, G201 and G 202 are clean, and still nothing. Do you think that the problem is the ECU? just want to be a little more sure.... thanks.

No. The wipers turn signals etc. don't need the ECU to work.
The problem is most likely the ignition switch, but you need to find a better mechanic, one who can test things to actually diagnose the problem, before you buy any parts.

Hi. I´ve been checking, and found the problem, it was the aftermarket alarm system´s relay; the guy who installed this, cut the main electricity cable from the ignition switch system, and connected it to a relay, and that cable was disconnected. Thank you people for your help, looks like the ignition switch stuff was right, but complicated due to a hidden disconnected cable.
