Default What are you running for headlights?

Like the title says, what’s everyone running in their headlights? It wasn’t until my wife was in my car with me and pointed it out, but my lights are pretty dim. The reflective surfaced inside of the housing looks good, probably just have some old dim bulbs, so I’m looking to upgrade/replace them, and looking for sugestions.

I'm using Sylvania Silverstar Ultra bulbs (9006 low/9005 high). They are good enough for what I need. Sylvania has one model in the Silverstar line that is supposedly brighter...the Sylvania Silverstar zXe bulbs, but I have not tried these.

How is the lifespan on 9005 bulbs? I read that it was relatively short.

This lead me to do the 9012 conversion since the lifespan was supposed to be similar to the 9006 with the same brightness of the 9005 bulbs.
The bulbs aren't cheap though (~$30/pc when I bought it), but I can't complain since they are shining bright after a 1.5 years.

I bought LED bulbs 2 years ago
Work great and are way brighter than the 9005 conversion
I have nokya 9005 yellow bulb for my high beams for when the fog sets in.

Left my headlights on for an hour and my car still started

Best mod ever

I installed a set of new TYC OEM replacements I got on eBay for cheap. Had to swap the housings over since they were 90-91 version and my CRX is an 89. Still all parts were interchangeable, and the new plated housings and glass sure beat the pants off my near 30-yr old set. Especially the one that had a hole in the glass and no chrome plating left on the interior.

did you have to make any medifications to the housing for those? Most of the kits I have seen require that and that’s something I’m looking to avoid unless i pick up a spare housing, since the ones i have are in pretty good shape

Question on the led's as well; I know they're brighter and clearer, but do they shine as far in a stock EF housing?
There's a lot of issues with the direction the bulbs throw light vs a housing designed for a stf bulb and the stock lights are easy enough to outrun.

Not sure but I've got these coming and will be trying them soon. I'll see if I can post a comparison pic.
