Default 99 Accord not shifting right

Just got the car not long ago, 170k miles. Fixed a few things it ran perfect besides the iac, now it’s throwing codes at me, not shifting right. Todayit wouldn’t drive at all, only would go in reverse. Turned it off and let it sit for 10 min and then it shifted into drive fine. The codes it’s throwing are, P1607
P0108
P1166
P1167
P0700
P0401
P0740. All of these started at the same time, it was revving real high before shifting after driving for a little while, I’m new here and new to Honda’s, any help is greatly appreciated

Hm, if you got all of these codes at once. I would be suspicious of the PCM. Have you replaced anything recently? The P1607 is a malfunction in the PCM circuit. You can't test the PCM per se, but you can check voltage on the terminals and ground. I know I checked mine for a fuel related code I had. Also, may not be a bad idea to do a ECM/ PCM reset. You can do this by pulling the "clock back-up" fuse in the passenger side fuse box (should be a 7.5 amp fuse). If you can, I would procure a helms manual or the official Honda Service manual. They have everything you would ever need in terms of troubleshooting and wiring diagrams. Hopefully someone else will chime in with some better advice.

If letting the car sit helps it to shift better until it warms up again means the transmission filter is likely clogged up.

in guessing id have to take it to a shop to have that taken care of then? I can’t find any videos on how to clean it, from what I’ve read it’s saying that it’s inside the trans itself.

ill give that a hat a try & see what happens, would it throw that code from not having my immobilizer chip in? Cause that’s been taken out

Auto or Manual? 4 cyl or V6? At any rate the transmission filter is located internally. The transmission would have to be removed and almost fully disassembled to change the transmission filter.

Just to clarify, these codes showed up all at once and the car started shifting erratically with the codes? You didn't notice any flaring or slipping prior? In general, I would check the transmission fluid. See if it smells burnt or is a dark brown or black. This will give you a bit of insight into how the transmission has been maintained.

yeah all at once & it was driving and shifting perfect before the codes besides the iac causing it to rev up and down. Last I checked when I had first got it running the trans fluid was nice & fresh looking, no black to it at all. Which wasn't what I had expected to see lol I’ll check it again but this was only a couple weeks ago and it sat while I waited to register it, drove it to and from work for like a week, made one hour or 2 hour drive up north and back & that’s when it started acting funny and giving me all these codes

I would do a PCM reset and see what codes are thrown from there. Being that all of these codes came all at once and the car drove fine, I would suspect something is going on with the PCM. I would also conduct some research to see if anyone else has had all of these codes pop up together and what other causes it could be.

I reset it, it’s just giving me 3 after the reset, still not shifting right, P1607 P1166 P1167 are the codes after the reset I’m going for a test drive and will check again, not having an immobilizer chip in wouldn’t cause the PCM code would it?

Besides the 3 above that came right on after resetting the pcm I drove it back home and it also threw these 3 plus the 3 above.

I'd suspect a problem with the engine harness itself.
Verify any recent work done.
Verify all grounds and bonding jumpers are clean, tight, installed, unbroken, and properly bonded.
Verify the engine harness ground is correctly bolted to the engine, IIRC it is on the end of the intake manifold
Verify a wire that looks connected or in one piece is still actually in one piece, if you grab the ground wire and it comes off in your hand, you probably found the problem.
Verify the battery is fully charged, holding a charge, and the main terminals are clean with tight clean connections and undamaged battery cables.
