Hi..new member here...just a question as my owners manual doesnt give this info.....about how many K's before you change trans fliud and filter on a 2013 Honda Civic

 

Follow the MM, you shouldn't need to replace the filter.

 

change it every 15k...two and a half quarts of Honda ATF fluid is only about $20 and a small price to pay to keep your tranny nice and cool

only buy Honda ATF fluid

 

geesh only 15 k?.......and it not cheap....made a apointment for tomorrow morning and its over a $100 fix,,,,for a car with only 40 k on it....and there pushing for the brake check,,,,another 150 bucks........was really interested in a new CRV.......but the Tucson with its 5 year warrenty make it look good

 

Do you know how to change the engine oil ? On these cars it's super easy compared to the 90's Hondas. If you can change engine oil and filter you can change transmission fluid. It's super easy.

 

I usually do mine around every 30k miles or 48000 kilometers. Car has about 147k miles and trans still shifts great.

 

ya I used to work on cars for a hobby,,but am now disabled, so really cant do much...It now has 40000 k on it....do you think I will be safe at doing it at 80 K...thanks for your input.....Rick

 

One more thing. Does it have a CVT transmission?

 

No. Don't wait until 80,000 miles. Now is a good time for the 1st change. The second time, maybe 80,000miles

 

yep I just got it done at the Honda dealer..40 K..not miles here in Canada and the second would be around 80 K,s...........would that work OK?..Thanks for your help..Rick
