I noticed when shopping around for new axle seals that the oem part numbers for the passenger and driver side are different. But when looking at aftermarket brands such as Timken, they advertise their axle seals as being for both sides. So is there a difference between the left and right side axle seals?

 

I would buy oem, when I worked at a shop we had a customer bring in a set from timken and they were about 1/4in smaller than oem. Spend a extra Money and get the right ones first.

they are different, even the aftermarket ones should be different, I have both at home I can check later

 

I just couldn't seem to find two different part numbers for the Timken seals. Unless BOTH sides come with one order of them, but I doubt that cus it seems to be priced for just one.
