Is anyone else rollin a lowered 5th gen?
I cut my springs...I know... for those of you who know its that bad. I have plans to buy some TEIN S-Tech lowering springs next summer, I only did it to ride out the rest of summer lowered.
MY QUESTION:
I bottom out hard up front, I only took out 1.5" which is what most lowering springs are and there were no bump stops on the factory shocks but I am bottoming out.
I know the tire is hitting the inner fender liner and the wheel well because theres visible proof but its rather jolting, loud and severe.
The upper control arm might also be hitting the top of the shock tower but Im not sure.
The real solution is getting the state to repave our roads, either that or move...I live in Vermont so roads are like...crazy, anyway.
Anybody else down 1.5" or more and having bottoming out problems? If so what specifically is it and what have you done to correct it?

you created the problem by cutting the springs. the heat caused by cutting the springs weakens the entire rest of the spring. the only "correct" way to do it is to cut it while the spring is submerged in a bucket of cold water.
you also may have blown struts
you also may have blown struts
You also took 1.5" out of the spring, without increasing spring rate, which is the second factor of lowering springs. To make up for less clearance, they are stiffer, to keep you from bottoming out so easily.
You might also need better shocks, as your current ones may not be able to handle the harsh hits, as you probably removed the lightest compression area of the spring as well.
