Default CRV lock 'shrieking' noise

Good morning! I have a 2000, maybe 2001 Honda CRV that is a beast, very little problems with it. However, lately, when I lock the doors using the driver's side manual method OR if using the remote locking device, the doors lock, but there's a screeching scream that comes from within the door panel. It is quite startling, and I have assumed that the lock will eventually just stop working, but it hasn't (yet), it just continues to shriek! It's loud enough to make passersby jump and quite embarrassing at times, but I'm sure this is a symptom of a larger problem. The question is, do I replace the actuator or something else? I'm not a techie, just want to make sure I don't get ripped of by who I choose to replace the mechanism. Thank you in advance, and have a great day!
Terri

SOUNDS LIKE YOUR LOCK SOLENOID IS ON ITS WAY OUT.

You Ned to adjust the rod on the inside of the dorm. It's pushing down too much on the solenoid
