Default Actuator Symptoms

My power door locks took a dump yesterday and I want to pinpoint the problem so I dont change anything I dont have to. When I lock the door from the switch, it makes a really loud buzzing noise... but the door locks fine. On the other hand, opening the door lock if perfectly fine. Can someone confirm its the actuator? Lastly, how do I change it out? I took the door apart and cant see anywhere to have screws to hold it down. Thanks for the valuable advice.

Well that happens to mine, so ill join you in a quest for the answer. It makes a loud noise, and when i use the alarm, the back doors dont lock nor do they unlock. 1 out of every 100 times will the back ones cooperate

yeah that is the actuator.. its a little box connected to a silver like pole. ive replaced all four of mine and they still F**k up and break. i dont know why.. but i know a lot of ppl with door problems ...

there is a small piece that breaks off and thats what makes it "grind" and screw up. you can take it to any audio shop that does keyless entry and get them replaced. just dont go cheap. i learned that one

The easiest way to replace an actuator is to remove the whole latch assembly from the door. That makes it alot easier ot work on.

Pretty much that is all the pictures I have and step by step I have for right now. I am going to be fixing the front passenger side one pretty quick here since that one is going as well.. When I do that one, I will do a better step-by-step. But it might be a month before I get to it...
