Replacement primary HO2S seems different
Hi all, another thread about my 2000 ex
A while ago I bought replacement primary and secondary oxygen sensors and since I was in there replacing my oil pan I thought I'd replace them
The two I bought were Denso parts 234-4098 and 234-4733. I bought Denso since I heard they're the OEM supplier for Honda and it was way cheaper than buying Honda-branded ones.
The 4098 which is the downstream sensor looks identical to the one that came out. However the 4733 (upstream) sensor, while overall being the same length, the sensor body is a slightly different length and it's missing the rubber bushing that snaps into the metal clip.
If I don't get any codes should I assume this one works? It looks like it should (both four-wire, same connector, sensor tip looks the same) and it's listed as fitting my car. If so, how should I keep the wire from dangling around since it doesn't have the rubber grommet that clips in?

In case anyone is wondering the answer to this question: Several people in the amazon reviews says it works fine and I also got no codes and no engine problems when I installed it. I just used a ziptie to keep the cable away from the halfshaft
Good looking out man! Thanks for the update on the codes, the securing, etc. Sometimes this forum is a bit slow, so instant help is going to fall more upon Google, and Amazon reviews if it's a part question like yours.
I'm guessing your original one came out easily enough? Sometimes they are seized, and they are a bitch to remove.
