Have done some searching and reading up, but I recently bought an EK hatch with a B18C5 swap in it and an oil catch can installed.
Currently after a high RPM pull, on deceleration I notice smoke out the back.
From from searches, its been noted it may be a PCV issue. I'm planning to replace the PCV , however I've been looking at pictures online and my oil catch can installation seems unusual where both the PCV and valve cover vent are both fed into a single line to the catch can like below:
Is this a correct installation? May this cause problems ?
Re: B18C5 blow by - PCV valve and oil catch can help
I'm not a catch can guru myself but it looks like you don't have a vacuum source to suck the blow by air out of the crankcase. As the post above says, instead of going into a bottle you should route the exit hose back into the intake manifold through the stock source where the original PCV line would.
Re: B18C5 blow by - PCV valve and oil catch can help
^^ thanks guys, I'll try making that connection today. I do some residual oil in the lines so that might be a reason why I'm blowing smoke on high RPM.
