D16Y8 engine. Putting cylinder head back on and need clarification on cylinder the cylinder head dowels. There are 4 possible spots for said dowels but the Honda parts catalog indicates there are only 2 dowels that go in the cylinder head. So my question is, which locations do they belong (of the 4 possible positions) and is it correct that there should only be two on this head? Thanks in advance for the help.

 

There are in fact only two needed. The cylinder head will only have the provision for two, so place the dowels on the two inner holes on the side that matches the ones in the cylinder head.

 

Thanks. Figured it out the minute I looked at the actual head gasket itself -- it only allows for two dowels just like you said.
