So I have a B18C and it's all stock accept for the short ram intake. I recently started hearing a strange noise when I put the motor under load. This happens when the motor is hot or cold. Now it's always made a short whistle sound from the intake when I accelerate. But this sound is hard to explain, it's sorta like a reverse whistle or a drop of water sound played in reverse. My first thought is vacume issue. I'm not sure if this is something that's been posted and solved. I can't recreate this noice while in neutral. If anyone could point me in a direction that would be great. I was told to get some carb cleaner and spray it around my vacume lines and we if anything changes. Also since this sound started my idle has been going up and down when I'm stoped at a light. Thanks again.

 

Sorry so the thread says wired noise not weird noise. Also I failed to mention that this is a 95 B18C. Also the noise will start as soon as I put the motor under load, and while I'm pressing the pedal I can hear a whistling noice, and as soon as I let off the gas I hear that reverse whistle or reverse water drop sound. Thanks again

 

Well problem solved. I must not have tightened my iacv all the way so I lost a bolt and the other was loose. That's why I was hearing that noise and idle was jumping.
