Default BAXA trans- different models for various trim levels?

Trying to find a transmission for my 00 acord ex 2.3. Now do I NEED the a transmission unit from an ex specifically or will any 2.3L work? From what I understand, the different trim levels have slightly different gear ratios? Can anyone confirm this? My helms as well as ATSG guide does not list this anywhere... These damn Craigslist sellers are all like "this transmission will work for you", but I dont trust them as far as I can throw them...

Thanks!

Ha. That's about where I'm at too. I found both an LX and SE trans on craigslist. No Ex though. If I'm going to spend the time doing the rebuild I don't want it to be all whacky.

If the BAXA is the jdm version then all you should need to do is swap over the sensors and solenoids and be good to go.

AFAIK the transmissions between coupe/sedan and sub models don't have different gear ratios. Wagons were only slightly different with FD differences in the 90-97 modes., no wagon for us.
IIRC 2.3 transmissions are.
BAXA is Accord(Ohio) which will most likely be Coupes
MAXA is Accord(Japan) which will most likely be Sedans
M6HA is Prelude non SH, dunno about SH.
MDWA is Odyssey
MCJA is Acura CL

I haven't confirmed this, but am fairly sure it is correct.

Original trans?
Non-original owner and a car with over 60K miles, that trans may have already been replaced.
