COST OF TIMING REPLACEMENT AND OTHER THINGS AT SAME TIME

 

Assuming you already have a basic set of metric wrenches/sockets, jack, and jack stands.
Couple of breaker bars, possibly even a cheater bar, beam style torque wrench, impact socket for crank bolt, 1/2" drive extension, TB kit w/wp, vc gasket(just incase), hondabond, crank tool, antifreeze and distilled water, you can probably do the job ~$225 yourself. Add~$30 if the bolt needs some MAP gas persuasion.

With the valve cover off, might as well do valve adjustment.
Add another ~$10 for feeler gauges.
~$30 fir PS and ALT belts.
Budget for $300 and shop around, Rockauto has fairly competitive parts pricing, look to Amazon for deals on tools.

What Mad Mike said. I also replaced my spark plug tube seals and accessory belts since I had to pull those anyways. I had to use a 10 foot steel pipe to get my crank pulley bolt loose.I would have some extra 1/2 extensions on hand (I bet I broke at least 4 during the job). You will need some brake kleen to clean out the old residue of the water pump gasket. a set of both deep and regular metric sockets. I did those job a few months ago and it ran about 250 for all the parts. Oh- also need a good jack to not only jack up the car, but to support the motor as you will have to remove an engine mount. Some people replace the the balance shaft seals and cam shaft seal, however mine were not compromised so I did not change. Good luck!
