Transmission issue
1995 honda civic ex vtech 5spd manual
When at a stop, with the clutch pressed in. Ill go to accelerate, when i release the clutch pedal to the point it grabs while giving gas, basically doing a hard acceleration. While doing so for a brief moment, it grinds. I can feel it in the clutch and hear it from the transmission. Its quite a sound being really loud and obnoxious.
My girlfriend believes its the clutch / slave cylinder
I have a hunch on it being the input shaft bearing.
Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Input shaft bearing is noisy any time the transmission is spinning, and can be worse when under load. One way to tell is when you are stopped and in neutral, you won't hear anything with the clutch pedal pressed, but when you release the pedal it will immediately make the noise.
Your issue does sound like a severely worn or damaged clutch, to the point that it's grinding metal to metal.
Either way, time to pull the tranny and inspect.
