Boost solenoid breaks down after a while mac/aem/greddy
Hello,
i have AEM ems and a Greddy profec b2 controller.
I hooked a toggle switch that when it's "on" it's allowing the ems to control the Boost Solenoid. when it's "off" the Profec B controller controls the solenoid (hope i explained it right)
the problem is, that i've started with the OEM Greddy solenoid and it broke. by broke i mean it work, its clicking, but i do not have any control of the boost, not from the Profec and not from the ems.
i switched to MAC solenoid, same thing, it's working for like 3 months, and then broke.
hooked an AEM one, broke yesterday.
when i toggle it to the ems, it's clicking (loud) i thought that is wrong, but my friend has that setup for 4 years (only via EMS) and its clicking, and it's fine.
Someone can help ?
(sorry for my english)

Check your vacuum routing if its clicking it should be functional. I never had any issues with my mac solenoid, make sure you keep it away from direct heat if they are truly braking after a few weeks this would be the prime suspect.
I have mine wired to my ignition near the fuse box which is fused to some other circuit, its never a good idea to have it directly wired without a fuse or give it power at all times you want the power to be supplied only while vehicle is running
if its giving you full boost all the time then it is in fact not working as intended, double check your settings normally closed vs normally open

Will check all the wirinig and vacuum again.

I will remove it and will update.
P.s.
Anyone you guys may know ever try to hook up the greddy and ems like i did?
No. I'll be honest, you're the first to try it. We would only use one solenoid, and one interface. But I see why you would try to use both. It's because each system fails to do a few things needed that the other makes up for.

nonetheless, it is rather where to see this being used in such a manner
The Greddy solenoid and Mac solenoid have completely different frequencies and material makeup. I'm very surprised that you were able to get this far.

If in 35% duty i was getting 15psi with the Greddy
With the Mac it was in 28%..
and boost is stable.
The main change was in the EMS.
duty cycle not what I'm referring to. That start boost number you're seeing in the GReddy isn't duty cycle, although many mistaken it to be that way.
Old yes.. Wise.. Not even close. Take a look at the two solenoid designs from here. I'm going through a theoretical about what you're going through, throughout the day when I get a break or two.
