97-98 usdm shift boot
Does anyone have a pic of their original boot? Specifically where the **** clips into the boot ( the chrome ring ) . Acura has discontinued the part . The Jdm one is to small to clip on. Honda still sells the em1 boot with a chrome ring I am trying to figure out if it will clip on with wasting money buying if it doesn't fit. Also I believe some prelude may have used the same **** . Any one know what year? Or know what ring may fit the us shift **** ? Thanks.
I bought the boot and it fits the **** perfectly. I had to swap the base / frame as the em1 doesn't fit. Plays the role well from a far. My plan was to switch the ring on the boots . I didn't as the em1 seems to be held on with with a plastic pin and the jdm is held on with the red stitching on the boot. I am still thinking about buying another em1 boot and maybe a 2000 itr shift boot and swapping the rings to make it look like the original as I haven't been able to obtain an original.
There is a difference between the 97 and 98 shift boots. I believe it has something to do with whether or not the black stitching is visible or not on the shift boot.
They also have different part numbers.
They also have different part numbers.
So can anyone take pics of their original boots to compare the difference in years? Please. Pretty please with sugar on top. It's good information for owners wanting to restore their R.

That is essentially what the em1 boot looks like except the base is similar to ours only smaller. I can't tell if it's leather or not . No visible stitching. I would post a pic but photobucket ruined that option . I don't think Honda- tech is tapatalk friendly. Maybe one day I will set up a flikr account. What are people using here to host pics here now ? I just saw the second one missed that. The ring on that looks like the jdm version.
The second one is just a standard integra USDM boot including the 00/01's.
The only reason I can see for the difference in part numbers is that the 97's had the stitching not visible and the 98's had it visible (or something similar). The ring at the top is the same for the em1 and ITR and NSX from what I can tell - I have all (3) boots.

This 97 on bringatraler has a good pic of the boot . I can see the stitching . His shif lever seems to sit incredibly high and at a different angle . Not sure if its the pic or not.
