hey guys so i got an issue i went to do a d16y8 swap and didnt have the right ecu so i put my old engine (d16y7) back in for the mean time. i put all the wiring in the ecu back the way it was there is splicing involved for my iac i dont know if that would cause the issue but ive got an extra 3 pin plug sitting around the intake and ive plugged everything in to what i think was the right way and cant find where it goes. my car has rough idle and when i gas the car does not wanna go till i about 2.5k but during steady acceleration car is stumbling and jerking and i know im running way to rich i can smell the gas coming out the exhaust like bad so maybe that can help you guys give me some pointers, if anymore info is needed lemme know thanks.

 

Did you swap to a two wire Iacv? If so you can't use a 2 wire iacv with the Y7 ECU. Pull the check engine codes and post them

 

I did switch then I spliced the 3 pin back on but it's spliced so I don't know if that's affecting the current being drawn to the iac for the bad idle

 

I pulled my spark plugs and they are black as hell. they fit the description of detonation in my haynes. i can smell gas where i pulled my spark plugs from

 

Pull codes.

Check all sensor plugs by wire color.

Wires have to be moved at the ECU to convert to 2 wire IACV or back to 3 wire.
