whats up guys. I have a 99 integra with a b18. I want to swap the b into my e.g. Sedan. What would I need to do/buy to swap?

 

Use everything from the Integra except the ECU. Engine, transmission, axles, shift rods, engine harness (plugs right into chassis), mounts, throttle cable. You will need to source a '94-95 Integra P74/P75 manual ECU and you will be done for basic operation. Power steering should be plug and play... if the high pressure P/S line in your civic doesn't fit the Integra pump, you can source a CRV P/S bracket and use your original civic pump and line. For A/C, you will need a CRV or Del Sol DOHC A/C bracket to bolt your civic compressor to.

 

why would I need to buy a new ecu? Would I need to get it flashed?

 

1) You cannot "flash" an OBD-1 or OBD-2A ECU. Now you could "chip" your original ECU and run a chip with a B18B program on it... assuming you trust the source. Otherwise, you need to get the car tuned by a professional.
2) The '99 Integra ECU will NOT plug into your '92-95 ECU plugs.
3) If you buy an adapter harness so that you CAN plug in the '99 Teg ECU, you will get a host of emissions related codes (that will be expensive and difficult to defeat) as well as needing a CKF sensor wired up just to get it to rev over 4000 rpm. So you have to decide which is cheaper: A different ECU to run the engine OBD-1 style, or an adapter harness, a fuel tank with vapor pressure sensor, a secondary O2 sensor, a different charcoal cannister with a vent shut-off valve, a larger purge/cut device and hours of wiring to make it all work as an OBD-2A style system... oh, and don't forget wiring up the OBD-2 data port.

 

Just get an OBD1 P74/75. Swap over your injectors so they'll be plug and play. You'll need a distributor adapter from OBD1-2A. The rest will plug and play assuming your B18 is non VTEC.
