2000 Accord Automatic Transmission Issues
I own a 2000 Accord LX, 4 cyc sedan with an automatic transmission, 230K miles.
The Issue? The transmission is dropping out of gear and into nuetral after a few minutes of drives. The only way I can get the car to go back into gear is by shutting off the car and restarting. Unfortunately that only gives me a couple of minutes before the transmission drops out of gear. I am not getting any trouble codes from the computer. What should I look at first? The plan is to flush and replace the fluid. Where should I go from there?
Any adice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Mac. If you turn the car off and then get some hydraulic power, it may be the filter clugged. Very normal. The ugly part, is that you have to teardown the transmission to change it.
230,000 miles: original transmission? ff so, wow.
In the meantime, a cogent summary of the fundamental issues with the transmissions in this generation of Acccords is in the third post in this thread.
