I have a b16 vtec in my 96 hatch, and for some reason it won't start. Now the car has been sitting for about a year and I had one of my friends check it and he said that it was the fuel pump. I just wanna know what other possibilities could there be on why it's not starting

 

coil/icm/main relay are the other most likely suspects.

Can you hear the fuel pump engage with the key in the second postion? If so, loosen the banjo bolt on the fuel filter and see if there's a good amount of fuel spray/pressure coming out. Do this when the engine is cold and have rags and soap water ready for cleanup.

 

When you said icm, I think you meant pcm? if not then what do you mean?
