1989 Honda Accord LX. I have a brown wire and black wire for my battery terminals. Which one is positive? Thanks

normally black and green are going to be ground for auto purposes, normally the ground(negative) wire will be attached to the chassis(the body at a metal spot nearby) as well, that's the normal giveaway, and it tends to be on the chassis side as well, while the positive cable will be near the inside of the engine bay

Too lazy to go outside and look at my 89 LXi,. Pretty sure the brown - single wire - is the ground, follow the other end to the chassis and then to the trans/engine . The black and white wires are positive, positive should have two wires - one to the fuse box (white) and the other to the starter (black).
