I have a slight knocking sound when idling. Just replaced the timing belt and balance shaft belt and it still makes the same sound. No check engine light. I have not adjusted the valve clearance yet. Any thoughts?

I would just like to add that its more of a ticking sound tha a knock. Appx. 80 ticks per minute.

 

adjust the valve clearance if the valves are loud, which you should be able to tell are too loose when the car is warmed up
