01 civic ex rear drum brake conversion/brake problem
Hello everyone, I've done a bit a looking around and I've found numerous posts about finding a type r and such and taking the rotor disc from them. I have also seen the ones that you just buy to convert it. The main question I have and haven't found any info on is how once converted to get the front and rear brakes to sync when the brake pedal is pressed
Any feedback is greatly appreciated,
Thank you.

I think by "sync" you mean something about the proportioning valve.
The stock valve sends fluid to the rear first and only when it stops taking fluid does it send to the fronts, this is to pre-fill the drum cylinder and push the floppy shoes outward to contact. So normally the fluid stages the rear shoes into contact and then evenly pushes all four (also EX has ABS so that adjusts for the rest).
When you put calipers on the rear, the proportioning valve sends fluid but barely any and then goes on to all-four operation as normal.
So there is nothing to do with any fluid circuits on an EX. If you didn't have ABS (non EX) then yes you would best change the proportioning valve just to make sure of balance when stabbing brakes. But the ABS takes care of imbalance, and the prop valve does not have check valving like older American drum brakes did (which was why the whole "don't swap drums for disc without changing the prop valve" rule but that does not apply on Civic EX)
