Default Defrost issue

My ac works. The air blows. In the mornings, when I pull from the garage, my windows fog up. When I turn the defrost on, it blows cold air, like the ac is on. I make sure that the ac isn't on or the recycle. After I get a few miles away from home, all of a sudden the defrost starts working. Any ideas?

The A/C is automatically turned on when you use the defrost setting on the mode dial.

If it is too cold for you, adjust the temperature control dial.

See excerpt from owner's manual:

Your heater blows cold air until the engine fully reaches operating temperature?

I'm stumped.

The heater gets heat from the engine coolant. When the coolant gets hot and circulates through the heater core is when you have hot air thru the vents.

The first thing that I do, is put on the heat and defrost mode on high.

Is there a way to upload a picture of how I have my settings?

That won't make the engine's coolant magically change from cold to hot. The reason your defrost is cold when you just started the car, is because it functions off of the coolant in your engine via the heater core. So, until the engine is warm, you won't get any heat inside the cabin of the vehicle.

Make sure you have changed your cabin A/C filter recently.

It's possible to turn off the automatic ac on when defroster is selected by using this tutorial.
