Default Oil pump leak?

How often do oil pumps leak?

I am ready to reseal my oil pan but it has a common surface with the oil pump.

Should I do the oil pump too while I am on it?

This is for 1999 4 cylinder Accord with 158K miles.

Thanks,
Sam

it's actually a bit of work to pull the oil pump and it doesn't really leak much, outside of the crank seal since it's constantly moving so just leave it be

Thanks.

I was looking for this advice! Did not want to disturb anything if it did not leak.

I would not do the oil pump either, but what I would do is buy a bottle of AT-205 Re-seal, from Amazon, and put it in with the new oil. It helps keep seals from drying out, including the oil pump seal, the crankshaft seal, etc. The seals are common causes of minor but frustrating and expensive-to-fix oil leaks. Watch Scotty Kilmer's YouTube video "Fixing Oil Seal Leaks Fast" if you want more info.
