A few weeks ago my check gas cap warning came on ... Shortly after the engine light came on .. Engine began to make sounds like it was taking a deep breath... Engine light stayed on for the next three days ...then went off ...then 5 days later turned back on ... Then off then on again...my engine seems to have a kick back... What do you think is wrong with my car ...Honda element 2006

 

Get the trouble code(s) and post the code numbers. Many parts stores such as Autozone will read the codes for free.

 

Pull the codes, sounds like it could be sensor related and could be easy fix, the codes generated should point you in the right direction or post them here and I'm sure more people will chime in!
