Default Bought a used engine for my 08 civic

So my engine broke down due to a coolant leak and I paid a mechanic 800 to replace the engine with a used 2006 engine. Then later today I saw recall 10-048 that has a recall for my exact engine for the exact coolant leak that broke my car. I have 2 questions relating to this.

1. Since I have a 2006 engine in it now, will they still do the recall on the 2008 model car or would I need the old 08 engine in it to get the recall. It says I have a 10 year time frame for the recall so it expires in 2018.
2. Can i have Honda put the old engine back in and recall/repair it so I can return the engine I bought?

Honda will likely reimburse you for the cost of the first installation but I'm not sure how that works out with you not originally getting the new updated block. You need to contact either Honda or atleast a dealer.

Much appreciated. What makes me mad is that they never even sent me a recall notice. Costing me towing and other crap.

I'm actually still driving my 06 with the cylinder crack behind the alternator and since adding a bottle of K-Seal from Oreilly for $13 or so it significantly reduced my coolant loss to the point where I don't really have to add any coolant anymore. It's still slightly leaking but it's minimal.

Also, note it goes by the date the car was first purchased so if the car was bought in 07 you only have a small window to go so act fast.

It's not a recall, it's a warranty extension. That's why it pays to check with the dealer when something major happens to your car.
