Default 8th Gen Civic SI front seats air bag removal

Hey you guys what up. I Have some 8th gen si seats installed in my ej8 right now but couldn't help but notice the extreme weight difference from the original seats. These things are heavy! I'm guessing it's the air bag inside of them causing such weight. Curious to know if removing them is possible without having to tear anything. They look awesome but can't help to think that these things will slow me down. Any ideas on removing them?
Thanks

there are 4 screws holding each airbag in. on the side there's 1 on top and 1 on bottom, and then there are 2 more on the back of the seat near the edge. keep in mind that the plastic back cover clips into the airbag on the side, so without the airbag you'll most likely have a gap on the side.

Damn really? What makes these seats so heavy. I figured I could fill in the empty space from the air bags with some sort of padding if possible. Seats are starting to get heavier and heavier nowadays.
