Default Freshened up motor, now NO SPARK! Time crunch.

Hey guys. Im in a pickle. I pulled my motor this summer to freshen it up. I replaced oil pump, rear main, water pump, timing belt kit, head gasket, all that stuff and added a remote oil line for a oil pressure gauge coming off of the funny light oil sensor. I've put my motor back in and now I have no spark at the distributor. I've checked all my grounds, stuck a test light to the ICM to see if I have power going in and I do. I need my car by the end of this week in order to drive back to my college town. Anybody got any ideas?

Did you recheck all of your harness connections, fuses, and ECU connections?

Also, you said that you checked the ICM for power going in, so does this mean you did a complete tear down of the distributor? Did you pull the distributor while doing the overhaul of the engine? And if so are you SURE that you reinstalled it correctly onto the end of the cam shaft?

There's a very good possibility that if you have power going into the ICM but you're not getting spark, that one of the other distributor connections isn't completely "locked-in" or that the key way, on the distributor that mates into the cam shaft, could be flipped? I'd check those first. And if you did tear the whole distributor apart I'd just get in there and make sure all the wires were reconnected properly and that all the sensors are back in the right places and set to the correct gaps, etc..etc...etc...

And btw...... You've got THE BEST fkn username EVER!!!
