96 Auto lx tranny shifts hard from 1st to 2nd gear
It only does it after the car warms up.
I'm going to start by replacing the transmission fluid, but do you guys/gals think it could be anything else?

Mine did this also. When I changed the fluid, the drain bolt is magnetic and there was a bunch of metal particles attached, if you have these I would suggest doing what I did:
Clean off drain plug, refill with the cheapest ATF you can get (1.29 at PepBoys)
Run this for a day or two.
Drain fluid while hot, clean off drain plug again, refill with Mobil 1 synthetic ATF.
THe Mobil 1 seemed to smoothen out the shifts. and I havent had any leaks yet.
Good luck.
