Rounded off bolt head to the serpentine belt auto tensioner pulley (2004 Honda CR-V)
Today I used a crowfoot wrench attachment on the tensioner tool to remove the serpentine belt on my '04 CRV. I could not see the bolt while I was using the bar, but after-the-fact I realized that the crowfoot was a poor fit and by using it I rounded-off the tensioner bolt head quite badly. Has anyone else ever rounded-off the bolt head of an auto tensioner pulley? If so, what did you do? Did you replace the whole assembly? Did you find a way to replace just the bolt somehow? I would like to think that it's possible to address the rounded off bolt without purchasing a new auto-tensioner assembly, but I can't figure it out...
Yikes, that's a tough spot. If you can find a pair of vice grips that fit well you might not have to replace it.
