I'm running an OBD1 P28 in my 1996 Integra with a B18A1 swap I built. 9.6.1 compression. Stock cams and cam gears. Brian Crower valves and valve springs. I disabled VTEC because I don't have a VTEC head. What else should I change? I'm new to Hondata and I'm just getting ready for my engines first start all stock. What else should I change?

 

I'm also new to Hondata so please be understanding lol. Today was the first day I've used it. So please understand when I say I'm new to this.

 

Just load the stock basemap for your engine (or the closest one to it) that is built in to Smanager and the car should start and run fine until you go get it tuned.

The only thing you should have to change is the injector sizing and dead time if you are not using oem injectors.

 

ok cool. So a few minor changes. Im running oem injectors before I mod and turbocharge it. Thanks for the help. Is there a way I can change the compression or is that not required?

 

how would I pick the basemap? what would they be labeled as?

 

The compression will affect the timing and fuel your engine needs, which comes into play when you get it tuned, but there are no parameters you can adjust for that.

In SManager, go to File > New. The base calibrations are labelled by ECU code and it give a description of the cars they came from.

 

Smanager has a b18 non-vtec map. Do you have a wideband installed? I don't know if it's because of my increased compression and displacement (81mm to 81.5mm and stock compression to 10.8:1) but the LS map they had ran pretty lean on my car. I know it was the map because when I ran my OBD0 LS ecu the engine's AFR's were dead on how they should be. The LS map smanager had, had my car WOT at 17:1 AFR's

 

This is why you should never run WOT on a basemap after making changes to the engine. It is only meant to get the car running so you can take it to a tuner.

 

ok thank you for the information. Will it be ok to run the engine before I get it tuned? I wanted to run the break in procedure. But I don't want to mess things up either.

 

I turned the VTEC off. and no wideband, yet. I'm getting things ready to just run stock.

 

would I change it to a car my B18A1 came from? (DA Integra 90-93) So a PR4? And I'm not seeing a PR4 available so would I just change to P74?
