Default JDM B18C Type R

Working with a local tuner for a base map on my JDM B18C Type R swap. Getting some conflicting opinions on the actual factory limiter "fuel cut" He currently has the limiter set to 8200, more or less the shift point. Is the factory limiter not 8900?

I'm sure this topic is now new.... any assistance would be much appreciated.

Best Regards,

98 and 96 have different redlines. Which so you have?

Going to upload the motor stamp photos. Needs an Admin approval. What am I looking for to note the difference between the two? I assumed it was a 96 being OBD1.

Redline is 8,400 rpm right? But I didn't know the '96 had lower redline. It's been said the fuel cutoff is 8,800 rpm apparently, at least for '98spec. I'm def not sure of this though.

It's a 99 production JDM B18c. So 98+ spec. What is a safe limiter to run the vehicle at? I have two maps of 8900 and 8200 with the same tables.

Graveytrain is asking for fuel cut off, not redline. Redlines are the same on ALL JDM 1995-2001 DC2/DB8 TypeR's, and the USDM ITR instrument clusters. 8900RPM is the FUEL cut off for JDM B18C. Two totally different things.

It is OBD2A, not OBD1

So what's the fuel cutoff for USDM spec?

My bad, I was answering the OP question.

8,650 RPM I've seen on a dyno after multiple runs with a Factory stock USDM R. The ITR clusters are funky though, in the over redline range, they can show a higher RPM than what it actually is sometimes....if you didn't know

THanks for the responses. So running at an 8900 limiter "fuel cut" is fine on my setup?

You've got your answer. A quick google search gets you to this wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_...DM_B18C_Type-R and it states that the red line is 8300, with fuel cut at 8900. Running an 8900 fuel cut on your setup should be fine. I doubt you'll ever rev that high though - I assume since you're working with a tuner you'll see at what rpms your power starts to drop off & shift at that point.....
