Default Should I install an extra brake light?

I was sitting at a stop light and a lady in a Chevy Suburban apparently was not paying attention and quickly stopped after they realized that I was stopped and could not move out of their way, and they were fortunately able to stop within inches of hitting my 2005 Civic, I am thinking that upgrading my brake lights could prevent getting rear ended. I already have very bright LED bulbs for my brake lights, tail lights, turn signals, tag lights and headlights, but I am wondering if adding a 1 foot long red LED light strip to the top of my back window as an additional brake light could help reduce the chance of getting rear ended even more, especially for vehicles that are higher up that may be able to see a brake light on top of the window easier than the stock one at the bottom of the window. I don't really see any disadvantages, LED light strips are under $10 on Amazon and it would be quick and easy to install. What do you think? Is there a reason that I shouldn't do this? I think it is a good idea. Thanks, I am looking forward to reading your replies on this.

If it honestly makes you feel any better go for it.

Have you checked to see if your brake lights are on with minimum brake pedal pressure?
I see so many cars stopped at lights with no brake lights on or blacked out so you can barely tell during the day.

The brake lights come on when pressing the pedal about 1/2 inch. So yes, they work properly

Unfortunately, having extra brake lights won't prevent stupidity.

True, but it could help get the attention of distracted drivers.
