Intake to bumper?
Okay I've tried finding out how to word it to where it sounds right and makes since but at previous car meet I went to i saw one civic with the civics intake going straight to the front bumper. What are the benefits of it and if there is a name for it please tell me

But a true v stack does run a filter so there's that. I don't see nothing wrong with running it with no filter just the v stack either. Yeah maybe some bugs and dirt will get in your motor but if you change your oil on time i don't see a problem.

And yes, you are wrong. V stack with no filter on a daily/street car is an absolutely abhorrent idea, and even running one with a filter just sticking out of the bumper, while functional, would look like complete ***.

However, a genuine v stack runs a channel so there's that. I don't see nothing amiss with running it with no channel only the v stack either. Better believe it possibly a few bugs and soil will get in your engine however in the event that you change your oil on time i don't see an issue.

The problem is all that **** that gets sucked into the intake goes into the COMBUSTION CHAMBER, and is smashed by the piston. There's no oil even in the combustion chamber, what you and White EG are suggesting is basically like saying, "I keep a small flame smoldering on my front door, but every few hours I splash some water on it. That's ok right?"
That being said, yes the oil will still get contaminated at a faster rate just through whatever gunks up the valves and then makes its way into the cylinder head. God forbid you ever drive behind a truck hauling rocks, or drive through a construction site, or even past someone mowing grass on the side of the road. One well placed pebble, rock, piece of rubber, etc will destroy the engine in half a second. If you really want a velocity stack, do it properly with one that has a filter integrated over the top of it like the ones that Blox makes.
Really would just like to see this topic closed. OP hasn't responded in awhile and this is going nowhere that makes any sense.
Plain and simple, nothing beneficial comes from an intake in a bumper. If OP wants to do it sure, go right ahead. Yes, AEM designed one with a bypass filter, well you have to buy the bypass separately. Or you can build your own. Have at it.
