Hi all. Currently looking to get an 07/08 plate Civic however I'm completely undecided on what model to get?

1.8 petrol or the 2.2 diesel?

I do around 12,000 miles a year - mainly A roads.

Are there any reliability issues with any of them models? Other than the sometimes dodgy clutch on the diesel?

Usually I'd go straight for the diesel - but the recent diesel rumours with higher taxes etc is definitely putting me off somewhat.

Any advice at all? My budget is around £3k.

I've read numerous threads on this but none were recent!
