Default 09 Civic Coupe - Window Issue

I have a 2009 Honda Civic Coupe. Unfortunately as of last week I've been having an issue with my passenger window.

Issue is - Passenger Window goes down but does not go up all the time.

Its gotten to the point where the driver side passenger window switch does not allow the window to go up or down but passenger side switch is still operation but has the issue of not going up all the time.

Before i start buying Window Regulators and Switches I was curious if anyone has any idea of what the issue may be.

What model trim level is your coupe (DX, LX, EX, Si)? DX has different wiring compared to the others.

I believe it's DX.

To test the front passenger window motor, first carefully pry up the front passenger side power window switch. Disconnect the White 8P wire harness connector.

You need two spare pieces of wires for the following test. Double-check the wire colors before attempting.

To test the motor (UP):
  • With one piece of wire, jump one end to wire terminal no. 4 (Green wire) and the other end of the piece of wire to terminal no. 7 (Blue wire)
  • With the other piece of wire, jump one end to wire terminal no. 2 (Black wire) and the other end of the piece of wire to terminal no. 8 (Red wire)
Turn the ignition ON, does the window go up?

To test the motor (DOWN)
  • With one piece of wire, jump one end to wire terminal no. 2 (Black wire) and the other end of the piece of wire to terminal no. 7 (Blue wire)
  • With the other piece of wire, jump one end to wire terminal no. 4 (Green wire) and the other end of the piece of wire to terminal no. 8 (Red wire)
Turn the ignition ON, does the window go down?
