Default my first honda in a while

Hey everyone, I found an AWD Automatic 97 crv for $500 ($490 if I account for the change i've found since cleaning it)
Basically the guy said he heard a loud bang, saw a bolt fly from under his car and then made it home (50 miles)

I test drove it and only noticed that the brakes were bad, I didn't notice any damage to the transfer cases nor driveshaft.
I drove it the 20 miles home and started to clean it.

I intend to drive this thing until it dies or i crash (whichever comes first)
I live in WA and i feel like an AWD car/suv is pretty much a requirement.

the Good:
New distributor
New Battery
tranny doesn't slip
it has the card table that goes in the trunk
A/C blows super cold, and Heat works

the Bad:
engine has 315k
needs new suspension
needs new brakes/tires
The Ugly:
Carpet is disgusting
dented front pass fender.

my only honda experience is EF and DA oriented.

aside from the timing belt, valve adjust, and water pump. What else is recommended?

PS: does it seem reasonable for a $500 car

$500 and it's driveable? Wish I could get a deal like that!! You scored dude. Not sure what else to change... did the previous owner mention when the last trans service, oil change, differential fluid change, plugs etc were?

Since he he said a bolt flew off, I would check everything important, lug nuts/studs, brake caliper and bracket bolts, axle nuts, driveshaft bolts etc. if it isn't one of those I wouldn't worry about it lol

if carpet is really that bad, rip it out, buy some from HD or lowes and use the old stuff to trace new carpets.

all studs/LCA bolts, Shock mount bolts transfer case/Upin bolts are accounted for

checked oil when i purchased, and it was extremely low (surprised there was no genie lamp), he drove it 100 miles every day.

and yea.. carpet looks like it has some mold or something, i'll definitely price out HD/lowes
