Default 2011 2.0i-vtec engine knock

Hi all. I have a uk spec 2011 crv 2.0i-vtec manual box, 45000 miles.
I have a knocking noise that seems to be coming from the bottom of the engine
at around 2000rpm once the engine is warm.
I took it to my mechanic who diagnosed it as a rod bearing on number 4 cylinder
was worn, he stripped the bottom of the engine and number 4 cylinder rod bearing was
marked and worn.
He replaced all 8 bearings with genuine honda bearings the same size as removed.
I got the car back and the noise is still there !?
can anyone tell me what might be the problem please ?
Thanks

hi KEV. As far as I know he saw the worn rod bearing and just replaced them.
Would a main bearing have the same symptoms I'm having?
cheers.

Yes you can change the main bearings with the engine still in the car by sliding the shells out – However it will all depend on the state of the crankshaft. If the crankshaft has deep score lines the crank will need a regrind and will need to be removed from the block.

The crankshaft was inspected when the rod bearings were changed and it is fine.
It was only number 4 rod bearing that was marked but all were changed with the same
size (yellow) bearings.
Is there a way to check if the main bearings are worn ?
Thanks
