Need Help with K24A4 Swap?
Guys,
The engine in my 2005 Element has a blown head gasket. It has 245K miles, so I am going to swap the motor. It seems that the most abundant motors (JDM imports) all have an EGR valve on them. My engine does NOT have an EGR valve, just a block off plate (it appears stock, but I am not a Honda expert). Can I
A. Install the motor with the EGR valve and just leave it unplugged (I assume its normal state is to NOT recirculate exhaust gas).
B. Pull the EGR valve from the new motor and install the block off plate from my old motor?
C. None of these.....you can't use the EGR motor in an Element that did not come with it originally.
I'd greatly appreciate advice from someone who knows for sure.
Thanks,
Todd
