Motor Gave out
My b16a2 just died due to high mileage and low compression. My mechanic said the head and block need to be rebuilt. I was curious though to how he could say that with only taking the valve cover off. But I have ran a compression test before and the vin on the motor says the mileage is super high. So time for a rebuild or swap. Im low on cash so what do yall think is the best option. Get a good used block and send the head to a machine shop. Replace valves, retainers, springs, valve guides, seals ect. What exactly does the machine shop do? I got an idea but not exactly sure. Or just by a used swap? Will a b18c1 just drop into my si with no extra parts? I know i will need the ecu but anything else? I wont be doing any of this work. I can do a tune up and some other stuff but no motor swaps or builds. Thanks for all help.
Ive been reading everywhere but this way i can get direct answers.

Re: Motor Gave out (t0kyoStatus)
Personally i'd say JDM OBD2 B16A would be your cheapest option, just order the engine only, no need to buy an ECU, transmission axles, mounts, etc.
